A symmetric matrix has symmetric entries with respect to the main diagonal. Furthermore, it is possible only for square matrices to be symmetric because equal matrices have equal dimensions. Question 5: What is meant by a symmetric matrix?Īnswer: A symmetric matrix refers to a square matrix whose transpose is equal to it. Question 4: Can we say that a zero matrix is invertible?Īnswer: No, a zero matrix is not invertible. In other words, we can say that a scalar matrix is an identity matrix’s multiple. Here are examples of expressions entered using the default settings in both systems. If you are an advanced student or professional Maple is right up your alley but fair warning it has a steep learning curve. In a scalar matrix, all off-diagonal elements are equal to zero and all on-diagonal elements happen to be equal. Mathematica, however, uses some non-standard notation which requires the user to translate back and forth between standard mathematics and Mathematica syntax. begingroup If you are a beginner or non-academic and like eye candy then Mathematica will work wonders for you, of course it will still work for academics and the learning curve isnt very steep. The various types of matrices are row matrix, column matrix, null matrix, square matrix, diagonal matrix, upper triangular matrix, lower triangular matrix, symmetric matrix, and antisymmetric matrix.Īnswer: The scalar matrix is similar to a square matrix. These rows and columns define the size or dimension of a matrix. Question 2: What is meant by matrices and what are its types?Īnswer: Matrix refers to a rectangular array of numbers. For example, $$ A =\begin$$ is a diagonal matrix is a diagonal matrix A matrix is said to be a row matrix if it has only one row. Some of them are as follows:Ī row matrix has only one row but any number of columns. This is not an open-source model that can be used for everyone. Here the program is written in basic mathematics and is used to perform complex queries. The term Mathematica means subject of instructions’ which helps you solve a particular problem. Different types of Matrices and their forms are used for solving numerous problems. Mathematica: It is a universal natural language that can be used for any programming structure.

Since Mojave, macOS has had an in-built screen recording feature. You don’t need to download an app at all. It is really easy to download YouTube video for free with software that comes with your Mac. The company specifies that “You shall not download any Content unless you see a ‘download’ or similar link displayed by YouTube.” How to download YouTube videos on a Mac for free You should also note that downloading YouTube videos goes against YouTube’s terms of service. Firstly, you shouldn’t download someone else’s video and then, for example, upload it to your own YouTube channel or use it to promote your business. (If you see a warning that you need to install Flash, for example, it really could be a scam, or at worse malware!)īefore we start, we have to point out that you should be aware of copyright issues. In our experience the free apps are usually more trouble than they are worth and potentially dangerous. There are also free and paid for apps that will also do this for you with a little more finesse, and we will include some of these options below too. Apple makes it possible to screen capture what is playing on your Mac, so ripping a YouTube video with the audio on to your Mac is not too much of a challenge. However, just because YouTube doesn’t make it easy to download YouTube videos on a Mac doesn’t mean you can’t. For some reason these services do not seem to want people to download anything to a Mac, perhaps this is because they offer apps for mobile devices and therefore have control over how those recordings are stored and how long they are available for (YouTube Premium only lets subscribers download video and music on to mobile devices, and it will only be available to watch offline for 30 days, for example). The same is true of Disney, Netflix and Prime, who also allow downloads to mobile devices, but not the Mac. The most curious thing about this particular issue is that YouTube allows YouTube videos to be downloaded to an iPad or iPhone (if you subscribe to YouTube Premium, $11.99/£11.99 a month, one-month free trial). Making a copy of YouTube videos on an iPad or iPhone is really easy, but the same can’t be said if you want to save YouTube videos on your Mac. You can download those YouTube videos your kids (or you) love to watch to play back offline. You've got to remember the historical time period that the NES was released – it was an age when the Cold War was still a very prominent problem in many American's minds, and game companies certainly didn't shy away from the free advertising that the fear-inspiring nightly news and morning papers were instilling in the purchasing public. It doesn't take a master of Mad Gab to discern the phonetically equivalent true title Konami was going for with this one, especially after you realize that the setting is a Soviet stronghold and all of the enemies are Communists. Do you need anything else? It's no Blades of Steel (hell EA's NHL09 isn't Blades of Steel), but growing up in Minnesota and playing on a hockey team ensured that this one was in the NES as much as Super Mario 3. I think I've got the same fond memory for this one as everyone else does: skinny dude, medium dude, and fat dude. The only game that ended up rivaling this excellent design was Konami's Blades of Steel, but the two were different enough to own and enjoy both (which is why you'll find Blades on this countdown). Every Ice Hockey player discovered their own perfect combination of men, and then it was on to the ice. You could choose from three different player body types, and outfit your team with any combination of them fast but weak Skinny Guys, brawny but slow Fat Guys, or well-balanced, middle-ground Normal Guys. This game of skating and slap shots was perfectly balanced, simple fun with just the right touch of planning and strategy to keep things interesting match after match. None of those games ended up having the lasting appeal and addictiveness of one of its other contemporaries, though – the first-party Nintendo sports sim known simply as Ice Hockey. Nintendo had a fairly diverse lineup of sports titles introduced for the NES early on in the system's life cycle, including 8-bit interpretations of soccer, tennis, volleyball and even downhill slalom skiing. Levi Buchanan, IGN Wireless & Retro Editor Feeding jellybeans to Blobert to transform it into different items and it was fun just to experiment with, such as making a blow torch with a cinnamon bean and a rocket with a root beer bean. Our Fondest Memoriesīecause I was the kind of nerd that kept track of developer names, when I saw that the creator of Pitfall was behind Boy and His Blob, I was sold. The Boy was virtually helpless without his Blob and his stash of flavored Jellybeans, making this title an interesting mix of action-adventure and puzzle gameplay. Feeding the Blob flavored jellybeans from apple to vanilla caused the Blob to transform into everything from a car jack to an umbrella. The nameless Boy and his pet Blob would overcome obstacles, defeat enemies and progress through the game by way of using special Jellybeans that would allow the Blob to become different objects and perform different feats. What at first appeared to be an awkward platformer quickly revealed itself to be a true test of gaming mettle. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade GameĪfter releasing several games for the Atari 2600 and other computer-based consoles, famed Pitfall! programmer and designer David Crane abandoned his traditional Activision backing, formed Absolute Entertainment, and went on to create what has become known as one of the NES catalog's quirkiest games, A Boy and His Blob: Trouble in Blobolonia. But it was clear that when he asked for someone in his studio to do something they would do it well and immediately. I never saw him yell, never saw him so much as raise his voice. He creates things that make himself feel happy, but if only that were it. He makes things “for everyone,” but it’s not that simple. He is there almost every day, questioning, prodding, pushing forward with his own tireless hunger and rigorous demands for solving the problem. As he led me around, there was some low-level tension-studio hands stiffening almost imperceptibly as Koons darkened their work stations. His studio in New York, housed in a newish space in Hudson Yards, is composed of around 50 painters, sculptors, and technicians. Throughout our time together, the chugging of the model locomotive engine and the pierce of the train’s whistle were as present as the grin. A few studio elves tinkered nearby on a model of one of his most infamous unrealized works, a full-scale, fabricated locomotive train engine suspended from an enormous crane, once considered for installation at the High Line in New York City. Mock-ups and models for his forthcoming Moon Phases project-a sculptural installation of 125 small spherical works that will, yes, go to the moon-dominated one wall. The floral phantasmagoria of puppies and “split-rockers.” It was like being backstage with all the props and set dressings for an interminable musical- Koons!-which was simultaneously the highest grossing musical of all time, and also occasionally on the verge of bankruptcy. Blue gazing balls and stainless-steel rabbits. Filing cabinets filled with little dime-store figurines that he’d scanned and blown up to enormous scale, to the sculptural proportions of the marble masterpieces in the museums of Europe. As he led me through the studio, we found the detritus of the world he’d rendered during his 45-year career. But like any magnetic force, he beckoned me in, then began washing over me with explanations of what I’d be encountering in the many thousands of square feet we might explore. And I found myself smiling the way one does when one is seen. “We’ve never met in the past?” he said, squeezing my hand and flashing his goofy grin. He and Staller divorced and she took their kid back to Italy and he had to destroy some of the works in order to make a case for custody. In the series, Made in Heaven, Koons photographed himself and Staller in flagrante, dick and balls and all. As perhaps he intended, it’s also hard to look at Koons without flashing on the works he made a decade later with his then wife, Ilona Staller, a porn actress and member of the Italian parliament. In language Koons might use to describe himself, he has nice hair, nice eyes, and a nice smile-which he deploys at the end of most sentences when any old punctuation would do. Jeff Koons today looks practically identical to how he did in photos from his first solo show in 1980, when he asked us to accept a fresh-out-of-the-box vacuum cleaner as art. Within the universe, Elder Tale is a popular MMORPG played worldwide. So, without farther ado, let’s jump into some plot. Log Horizon has the best first episode out of this season’s selection, from the shows I’ve seen so far. After the first episode, it seems Log Horizon is succeeding. After seeing the explosive success that was the mediocre SAO, producers thought Log Horizon (also originally a light novel, like SAO) could grab a piece of the pie. What’s almost certain, though, is that Log Horizon is attempting to ride on SAO‘s popularity. So, no, Log Horizon is not a cheap copy of SAO. This plot is not new, not even to the Western world. Heck, think Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over (2003) or even Scooby Doo and the Cyber Chase (2001). I’ll be blunt: SAO was not the first series to use the “trapped in a game” premise. Log Horizon got a decent bit of flak, most notably from the SAO community, immediately after announcement due to concerns that it was going to “copy” SAO. If you like large scale battles with fights on different fronts and lots of strategy involved, then Log Horizon is for you.“Thank God it’s not another Sword Art Online.” Overall, I think that Log Horizon is a great anime to watch, but it’s lacking in some areas. Similar with certain relationships, there is development within the groups, but the individuals in it have no sort of development at all. So I really wish that certain relationships got developed more since they were not developed at all.įinally, I really think that character specific development is lacking. Secondly, I think that the development of certain relationships is pretty nonexistent whilst with others it’s a hundred percent present. We only know about a few locations and even then we don’t know a ton about them, along with some things related to the story. They feel as if they were ripped straight from a game and just go so well with the setting and such of the story.įirstly, world building is kinda iffy. Aside from personalities, the looks of the characters really suit the class they have and shows you how they will act without them even doing anything.įinally, the soundtracks, wow, they are just perfect for the settings and everything that’s going on. I feel as if every single character in the series could be a real person who exists as for how real their personalities feel. You feel as if a master battle strategist is unfolding everything out before your eyes and you see the bigger picture of how everything is going to go.Ĭharacter design is another really big part of Log Horizon as well. One of the things that really shines in Log Horizon is the way they go about showing a battle and everything that goes into it. As the story progresses, Shiroe and everyone else in this world realize that they need to make the best out of what they have and try to rebuild society and maintain it. As we start off the show he teams up with two of his friends Naotsugu and Akatsuki. That world being one they’re familiar with, Elder Tale! Our main protagonist is a gamer who can’t really communicate well named Shiroe. On the day of the new update, 30,000 people in japan are suddenly teleported into a new and mysterious world. It also has four manga adaptations, three of them based on characters in the story and the other based off of the actual story.Įlder Tale, an MMORPG played by thousands across the world is soon to be releasing a new update called “Novasphere Pioneers”. The anime itself aired in October of 2013 and the second season aired in October of 2014. The Log Horizon anime is based off of light novels of the same name released back in 2011. After finishing the first season I immediately got onto the second one, I hope you guys will too after you’ve finished reading this article! I thought that it was just going to be a really basic isekai but after watching it, I realized that it was the opposite. So I sat down and binged all of season 1 in three days. I asked him about it and he gave me the name “Log Horizon”. So a while ago I got word from a friend that the third season of one of his most favorite anime was going to start airing. |
